7th Annual Brews for New Avenues in Portland, Oregon

Search the entirety of the United States and you’ll find no other event that can match the premier nature of Portland’s Brews For New Avenues. Now entering it’s 7th year, this series of events is now considered “the world’s largest rare beer auction” and it’s like no other on the planet.

And if you don’t believe us, get this…

Over the past 7 years, Brews for New Avenues has raised over $500,000 to fund their non-profit organization. And of that total amount, over $240,000 was raised in 2017 alone. More importantly, 100% of proceeds benefit New Avenues for Youth’s programs and services for youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

What makes this entire week of events special are the breweries involved, the auction packages up for live and silent auction, the wide variety of international and local beers on tap, not to mention the one-off collaborations crafted just for this festival from Bokkereyder, De Garde Brewing, Great Notion Brewing, Gueuzerie Tilquin, and Upright Brewing.

On Tuesday, the events leading up to the August 25th main event – including a Brewers Dinner featuring Jester King Brewery and pFriem Family Brewers, an Oyster and Gueuze Social, and VIP access tickets, all sold-out within minutes.

With this fundraiser becoming more popular than ever, it only made sense to get word out that $15 General Admission tickets are going on sale June 1st, at Noon, Pacific. Admission includes 4 drink tokens and a commemorative glass with which to sample more than 50 international, national and local craft beers on tap. Additional tokens are available for sale at the event.

The event will also feature artisan food, live music by The Kinky Brothers, a silent auction, live auctions of rare and large format bottles, and a 1,000+ bottle Wall of Beer. So you can bid on packages or verticals of bottles that sold as high as $8,000 last year or pull a few mystery bottles from the Wall of Beer at $20 to $30 a piece – so there’s something for all budgets.

As an added bonus this year, the Crown Plaza Hotel is offering Brews for New Avenues attendees a special discount on your stay – and free shuttle service throughout the evening to and from Brews! Use this link to save 20% off current rates and book your room now!

7th Annual Brews for New Avenues
The world’s largest rare beer auction to help end youth homelessness

The Ambassador Board of New Avenues for Youth presents the seventh annual Brews for New Avenues– a series of events celebrating rare beer and showcasing the social consciousness of the beer community. Since its inception, Brews for New Avenues has raised more than $500,000 for New Avenues for Youth, a Portland non-profit serving youth experiencing or at-risk of homelessness.

Hundreds of beer enthusiasts, many who travel from around the globe, are expected to attend this year’s series of events – including a Brewers Dinner featuring guest breweries Jester King Brewery, from Austin, Texas and pFriem Family Brewers from Hood River, Oregon, an Oyster & Gueuze Social, and an exclusive VIP Event – all leading up to the main event on Saturday, August 25th at Portland’s Leftbank Annex.

Brews for New Avenues features a silent auction, live auction of rare and large format bottles, artisan food, live music from “The Kinky Brothers,” and craft beer from over 50 different local, national and international breweries.  Guests will also be able to purchase mystery bottles from the famous 1,000-bottle Wall of Beer, as well as special limited releases and collaborations from Bokkereyder, De Garde Brewing, Great Notion Brewing, Gueuzerie Tilquin, and Upright Brewing.

Organized for a city that lives, eats, breathes and drinks craft beer, last year’s event raised a record-breaking $240,000. “In 2017, we had the privilege of hosting Pierre Tilquin of Belgium’s Gueuzerie Tilquin who generously auctioned off three of his blendery’s special bottles for more than $5,500, and we saw a single bottle of Cantillon go for more than $8,000,” says Jessica Elkan, New Avenues’ Director of Development.  “We are equally excited about this year’s line-up of brewers and auction items.  The generosity of the beer community has been overwhelming, and the 2018 Brews for New Avenues is sure to be another record-breaker.”

General Admission tickets for the main event will be available June 1st at www.brewsfornewavenues.org.
