Spring has sprung in our latest collection of new beers for 2018…And we’ve five diverse craft beer directions (big and small) that you might want to chase down while things thaw out.
POGressive (Newport, OR) – Rogue Ales is returning something tart and sassy that was inspired by POG, a classic Hawaiian tropical fruit juice hybrid. Rogue Paradise Pucker is a 6% ABV Sour Ale that was crafted using passion fruit, orange peel, pink guava and as the brewery likes to explain “free range coastal water.”
Berliner Wise (Durango, CO) – The fourth beer in a series from Ska Brewing’s Mod Project experimental division recently shipped and it couldn’t be more ‘spring-ready.’ Opening with a refreshing tartness that evolves into a crisp lemon-like tones, Ska Project #4 Berliner Weisse finishes dry with just a hint of melon— and absolutely no bitterness.
April Fool’s Daze (Portland, OR) – Bridgeport Brewing has a timely new offering that’s scheduled for release on April 1st (that’s right…April Fool’s Day), but there’s nothing foolish about it. Their first venture into an uber-popular style, Bridgeport East Coast Style Hazy IPA is 6.9% ABV unfiltered India Pale Ale that sports tons of hop flavor while keeping the hop bitterness low.
Old World Meets New (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing just released something MASSIVE that tweaks a legend developed in 2000 by Stone co-founder and original Brewmaster, Steve Wagner. Built from the backbone of Stone’s classic Imperial Russian Stout, Stone Totalitarian Imperial Russian Stout is a 10.6% ABV pitch black wonder with rich dark chocolate, black currant, graham cracker and marshmallow notes and a silky smooth finish.
Epic Swells (Santa Barbara, CA) – Telegraph Brewing has an exciting new small batch offering that’s a homage to the region’s famous ‘West Swells,’ huge waves that don’t come that often, but when they do can draw surfers from all over California. Telegraph West Swell India Pale Ale is a citrusy 6.7% ABV juice-bomb that’s just swell.
