Beyoncé Not Crazy In Love With Bïeryoncé Beer

When we first saw news that a small Brooklyn craft brewery had released Bïeryoncé, a German Pilsner inspired by the pop superstar, we thought this isn’t going to end well…and it didn’t.

Here’s the deal…

Last October Brooklyn’s Lineup Brewing created the now semi-legendary Bïeryoncé beer after the brewery’s owner and master brewer, Katarina Martinez, missed one of Beyoncé’s concerts despite having tickets for the show. That small 2016 release went on to become so popular that the brewery relaunched it in November.

And the fact that the beer, which had already co-opted the artist’s name, was being offered in cans with artwork and lettering that was clearly inspired (at least to our eyes) by Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album did not please Queen Bey’s people one bit..

According to Pitchfork, the brewery, who recently received a dreaded cease and desist letter from Beyoncé’s lawyers, have bowed to the queen’s wishes and put an end to Bïeryoncé’ beers production

“As a Hispanic, female-run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I’d pay homage,” Martinez told Pitchfork after receiving the letter. “We’re disappointed she didn’t take it as a compliment, but oh well. It was fun while it lasted!”
