Summer‘s “Dog Days” are here …and it’s time for some summertime fun. Well good, because there’s lots going on. From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered.  Plus we’ve a special summertime weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking

Big Doings In Beer City (Grand Rapids, MI) – The 5th annual Grand Rapids On Tap Craft Beer Festival is returning to ‘Beer City’ this Saturday July 15th from 3-7pm – and it’s going to be the biggest and best one they’ve thrown yet! This year’s beerganza will feature over 100 specially crafted offerings from the region’s most dynamic breweries – so there’s that. But there’s also gonna be plenty artisan and non-stop music – so there’s that too!

On The Big Screen – One of the summer’s most anticipated sequels War for the Planet Of The Apes debuts this weekend and critics are already calling Oscar-worthy which is not bad for this kind of monkey-business. Andy Serkis reprises his role as Caesar, the warrior leader trying to protect his devastated army of apes from certain annihilation at the hands of an evil Woody Harrelson. We get it…it sounds dumb…but this series has always been a cut above, and this is edition (the third from this franchise) is reportedly brilliant.

TV Time & Streaming – There’s so much great television out there nowadays, that it seems like we’re always playing catchup as we are with Bloodline, the Florida Keys saturated family drama which Netflix returned for its third and final season. Kyle Chandler returns as a police officer and head of the Rayburns, a proud Florida family with too much blood on their hands. With its huge cast of great actors including Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini and Sissy Spacek, Bloodline is taut and compelling viewing that’s not to be missed.

Craft Beer + Culinary Pairings + Live Music (Denver, CO) – With its 120 breweries, eateries & cocktail bars returning to Denver’s Tivoli Quad this Sunday July 16th from 12-5pm, The Mile High City is primed for a good time. Plan on coming early to Brufrou so you’ll have to have time to hang with the brilliant brewers attending and 80 cutting-edge chefs who will be presenting brilliant pairing options for some serious beer.

With the dog days of summer now upon us, we’re plan on keeping things sessionable this weekend with something that we recently received from the Fordham Brewing crew. Fordham Dilated Pupilz is a clean and crisp 5% ABV uber-hoppy Pilsner that’s perfect with temperature careening to triple digits.
