August’s heat is fast becoming a memory…so it’s time to get out there and we’ve got your back. From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered. Plus we’ve a special summertime weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking.
Music / Music / Music / Beer / Music (San Francisco, CA) – There’s no bigger, nor better, musical event happening anywhere this weekend than the Outside Lands 2017 which is returning to Golden Gate Park for its 10th year anniversary. This year’s festival is three days (August 11th-13th) of spectacular music and a mind-blowing array of artists such as Metallica, the Who, Gorillaz, Fleet Foxes , and Lorde, So If you can’t find music you like here – you don’t like music anymore. And while you’re there be sure to check out the festival’s Beer Lands tent, an amazing collection of more than 25 cutting-edge breweries, hailing from San Francisco, Napa, Sonoma, Half Moon Bay and Berkeley.
London Calling (UK) – CAMRA’s legendary Great British Beer Festival is already ON over in London and unbelievably, tickets are still available for today and tomorrow (Aug 11th -12th). This year marks the 40th year for this annual celebration of craft beer, real ales, artisan foods and music and it’s a terrific event.
On The Big Screen – This weekend’s big movie opening is a prequel to the moderately successful 2013 horror flick, The Conjuring and we’re not hopeful. So we suggest that you bypass Annabelle: Creation altogether and check out something cinematic like Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, or just stupidly fun like Wonder Woman.
Great Beer Tasting In The Midwest (Madison, WI) – The Madison Homebrewers and Tasters Guild will be hosting the Great Taste of the Midwest this Saturday August 12th at Olin Park, overlooking Lake Monona. Truly one of the nation’s premier beer festivals, this year’s beerganza will feature more than 150 of the Midwest’s most exciting craft brewers!
