Warm Up To The Holiday Season This Weekend (Portland, OR) – The 21st annual Portland Holiday Ale Festival has returned to “Portlandia” and it wraps this Sunday December 4th so the good news is you get to drink all weekend! One of the season’s most acclaimed craft beer events, this year’s holiday throwdown will feature more than 50 STRONG ales, many of them brewed specifically for this event. Get ready for robust Barleywines, insane Belgians, strong Stouts and aggressive Sours – this is holiday drinking at its best! On The Big Screen – The holiday movie season is ON with tons of new movies opening and we don’t want you to overlook a smart Sci-Fi flick that opened a couple weeks ago. Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario), Arrival is the thinking-person’s alien encounter movie and it’s as good as they come.
Pacific Northwest Drinking Unleashed! (Seattle, WA) – One of The Washington Brewers Guild’s most popular events, the 2016 Winter Beer Festival is returning to Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park this weekend – and if you’re up that way you don’t want to miss it. This annual two-day (Dec 2nd– 3rd), three-session beerganza will feature the region’s most cutting-edge breweries and outstanding winter offerings including high octane stouts, robust winter warmers, and unforgiving barrel-aged one-offs. It’s gonna be colder this weekend but we’ve a HUGE winter seasonal from Lagunitas to keep us warm. The result of a failed attempt to brew a Barley Wine back in 1997, Lagunitas Brown Shugga’ went on to become a classic – the 9.7% ABV “something” that’s perfect this time of year.
