Mother Road’s Roadside American Ale

Mother Road Brewing Company (Flagstaff, AZ)
American Pale Ale, Imperial/Double IPA

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION:

We have noticed a trend in American ales recently. 'Hoppy' ales are seen by the public as exceedingly bitter, and incredibly strong beers. We wanted to turn this trend on its head. We designed this beer to be hoppy, but not bitter. We wanted maltiness, but we also wanted to keep the alcohol levels low enough that you could enjoy a pint (or two) and still hold a coherent conversation. The amount of hops we add to this beer could be considered ridiculous, but the way we add them introduces very little bitterness and copious amounts of flavor and aroma. This beer is for the 'hop heads' and all lovers of pale ales. It is available in 12 ounce bottles and Torpedo and half barrel kegs.

This beer was inspired by the many roadside attractions that populate stretches of two lane road. We were especially enamored with Jackrabbit, Arizona; a gasoline stop on Route 66 between Winslow and Holbrook made famous by the 'Here It Is' billboard. Stop in a see the friendly folks at the Trading Post as you drive through. They have soft drinks, memorabilia, and Indian crafts. Make sure to ride the rabbit!

Drive the stretch of original two lane Route 66 from Jackrabbit to Joseph City that runs parallel to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe mainline.

This is an iconic stop along Route 66 with the recently re-painted billboard that has been parodied in popular culture including the Disney movie, Cars.
