, US Craft Brewers Win Big At 2024 Australian International Beer Awards

Australia, now one of the richest beer cultures in the world, is also home to the Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards.

And American craft brewers won big again this year.

Conducted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, the Australian International Beer Awards, the largest annual competition in the world judging both draught and packaged beer, attracted an incredible 2,500 entries  from a record-breaking 400-plus breweries based in 23 countries.

They were judged by 84 beer experts from around the globe, including 15 international judges from nine countries,

American craft brewers fared particularly well in 2024, winning 10o awards this year, including 16 gold, 30 silver, and 54 bronze medals.

Frisco, Colorado’s Outer Range Brewing Company won the Champion Trophy for Best New Exhibitor, and Albuquerque, NM-based Quarter Celtic Brewpub won the Champion Trophy for Best European Style Lager for “The Prince of Dort-ness.”

The Brewers Association (BA) Export Development Program views international competitions as an important way of generating publicity for the US craft beer industry. And as part of this program the BA covers the cost of a consolidated airfreight shipment to judging sites and covers the entry fee for up to three brands per brewery in select international competitions for its member breweries.
