Americans drink an incredible amount of beer on Super Bowl Sunday.
According to The Telegraph, Americans will power-pound 325.5 million gallons of beer on Super Bowl Sunday, which has also been ranked as one of the highest caloric days (right up there with Thanksgiving) of the year.
With that in mind, Betting.com has analyzed the average cost of draught beer and bottled beer in 100 cities across the US, and found the cheapest, and most expensive, locations for drinking beer on Super Bowl Sunday.
Tapping into the top 100 most populated cities in America, and using Numbeo data for cost of draught beer and bottled beer (imported), the online betting site came up with the best (and worst) US cities for drinking beer this Super Bowl Sunday.
Here some of the highlights…
Home to this year’s Super Bowl, hosted at the State Farm Stadium, Glendale, tied for seventh place with Lincoln, Nebraska for being home to the cheapest beer in the US. In either of those towns you’ll pay just $4 on average for a draught beer, and $5.50 for a bottle, although clearly that’s not what you’ll be paying for if you’re actually in the stadium.
Toledo Ohio boasts took top honors for being home to the cheapest beer in the nation with a draught beer costing just $3.25 and a bottled beer costing $5.
And it turns out Texas is currently home to the highest number of cities in the top 10 offering the cheapest beer, with El Paso, Lubbock and Irving also serving up the more affordable brews.

Not all that surprisingly, New York City was ranked as being home to the most expensive beer in the nation. Super Bowl spectators enjoying the game at a bar can expect a draught beer to set them back $8 on average. A bottled beer will cost them a shocking $10.
New York City is followed by Los Angeles and San Jose in California. In fact, California dominates the top 10 list of most expensive cities for beer with six cities featured in total.
