Ah, St. Patrick's Day is almost here. Soon, Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking will be lifted and the Catholics of the world will be celebrating the life of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. News like this usually drops on a Monday or Friday...So we weren't totally surprised when our friends at Brewbound broke the news that Joey Redner had decided to sell a majority stake in his Cigar City, Florida's largest independent brewery, to Fireman Capital.

We blame the industry for this... It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates - things were pretty much done. But clearly all that's changed.
