, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – August 23, 2013Beer Nebraska – The great state of Nebraska is emerging as a craft beer powerhouse and they’re celebrating their arrival this weekend when the 5th annual Great Nebraska Beer Fest returns. It’s all taking place this Saturday (August 24th) at the Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, Nebraska and some of the ACB crew are even going to be there. This year’s festival will feature more than 400 craft beers from over 80 of the region’s best breweries and promises to be spectacular. New Movies Opening This Weekend – This weekend’s movies pretty much run the gamut from comedy to fantasy to horror, so we’ve got to think there’s something here that will pair well with popcorn. The World’s End is the comedy and it stars Simon Pegg as one of five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier and unwittingly become humankind’s only hope for survival. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is the fantasy and it’s Hollywood’s latest attempt to build another Harry Potter or Twilight-like franchise. You’re Next is the horror flick opening this weekend and there’s actually some buzz on this one. It tells the story of the Davison family who comes under attack by a gang of mysterious killers during their wedding anniversary getaway.

, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – August 23, 2013Sweet VirginiaDevils Backbone will be hosting the 2013 Virginia Craft Brewers Fest on the brewery’s concert grounds in Roseland this Saturday, August 24, and 30 of Virginia’s best craft brewers will be offering their award-winning beers as well as some samples of what will be on tap for the fall. The Virginia Craft Brewers Cup will also be awarded in the late afternoon for the best 3 beers in 14 different categories. The top beer in each category will then be judged and the best beer in show will be awarded the 2013 Virginia Craft Brewers Cup!

Music / Music / Music – Los Angeles will play home to one of music’s best festivals this weekend when FYF FEST blasts into town. This year’s two-day event (August 24th– 25th) will be bringing together the biggest names in EDM, Indie, and Rock music, including artists the likes of Beach House, The Breeders and MGMT.
