, THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKSColorado Calling (Ft. Collins, CO) – The 27th annual Colorado Brewers’ Festival is returning to downtown Fort Collins this weekend and if you’ve never attended one of these, it’s time to re-evaluate how you’re living your life. This iconic two-day celebration (June 25th-26th) is the largest outdoor brewing festival in Colorado drawing over 20,000 people annually. It’s one of the highest profile events of its kind in the nation, with over 50 of the region’s most cutting-edge breweries serving up their absolute best. On The Big Screen – After twenty years it appears that…THEY’RE BACK! The much anticipated sequel to Roland Emmerich’s popcorn classic, Independence Day, debuts nationally this weekend. With the exception of Will Smith, almost the entire team is back together for Independence Day: , THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKSResurgence including Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, and swarms of monstrous aliens. Summers were made for these kinds silly outings – so don’t be a hater – just buy your ticket (we did!) and go!

Think LocallyDrink Globally (Portland, OR) – The 2015 Portland International Beer Festival is returns to Holladay Park at Lloyd Center this weekend. This year’s three-day event (June 24th-26th) will feature over 200 beers from over 16 countries and will also include locally-brewed craft beers as well. There will also be endless live music, a beer garden and a huge lawn for participants to pass out on. For more info on this popular beerganza check out: Portland International Beerfest

TV Time – Now in its third season, the jury’s still out on whether Showtime’s Penny Dreadful will become something great.  But the Victorian era supernatural thriller, which weaves together classic gothic characters like Dorian Gray with Dr. Frankenstein, still looks great and entertains. Eva Green returns as a London psychic who unites with explorer Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton), American gunslinger Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) and others, to fight supernatural evil at the turn of the century. Hey we get that this may not be the next Breaking Bad, but it still beats the hell out of The Real Wife of Anywhere.

OUR WEEKEND BEER PICK

With summer now upon us and temperatures rising we’re dialing things back at the ACB compound and Victory has brewed an authentic German-style lager that we’ve been hitting a lot lately. Victory’s Helles Lager is 4.8% ABV pleaser that’s a nice take on a style that more and more brewers have been returning to lately.
