Goose Island Founder Sells His Clybourn Brewpub To Anheuser-Busch (Chicago, IL) – Goose Island’s founder John Hall, who sold his brand rights and brewery to Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2011, has reportedly sold the Clybourn Avenue brewpub (where everything started – but was not part of that original transaction) to the global entity.

Deschutes Street Pub Tour Returns (Bend, OR) – Deschutes will be taking their travelling Street Pub Tour to six great American cities this summer and we’re psyched that they are! This traveling block party, which showcases the pub experience on which Deschutes was founded, includes an enormous transportable bar that was handcrafted in Central Oregon. And, even better, in each city they’ll be partnering with a local charity and donating 100% of proceeds, to help that charity achieve its mission.

Blood Doping Rumors Continue To Plague The WTF! (Brussels) – Spokespersons for the World Tank-Diving Federation (WTF) continue to address allegations that nitro-doping is a widespread practice throughout the league. This practice, which first surfaced in 2003, affords the competition’s divers an unfair advantage and prolonged fermentation tank submersion times. While the league has acknowledged that these actions have taken place in the past, they reject that nitro-doping is now common amongst its divers, and vociferously reject calls for league-wide testing. Calls for increased scrutiny come at an unfortunate time for the WTF, as they look to bring their wildly popular fermentation tank-diving competitions to North America in 2017.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all of the American craft breweries who ship us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and it helps us have a better feel for what’s happening out there.
