Zwickelmania 2019 Phase II Returns This Weekend (Oregon) – Zwickelmania, Oregon’s annual state-wide celebration that’s been described as a “backstage pass to Oregon’s best breweries” returns to the Pacific Northwest for what has now become two weekends of fun. Portland was last week (and it was a total blast!), and the second phase takes place this weekend…
Central Oregon, Eastern Oregon, Mt. Hood/the Gorge, Southern Oregon, The Coast and the Willamette Valley Breweries are all part of Zwickelmania’s second weekend which takes place this Saturday February 23rd from 11am to 4pm.
Last year, more than 42,500 people toured some 120 Oregon breweries and this year is already looking to break records.
Academy Award Nominated Movies On The Big & Small Screen – The Academy Awards are on Sunday so you want to hit some of the nomination flicks this weekend so you can act like you know what’s going on.
A Star is Born is currently in theaters and available for digital purchase on iTunes, YouTube, and Google Play. The Green Book is still out there on the big screen, as is Vice (assuming you want to spend over two hours with Dick Cheney).
Black Panther is available on HBO now but chances are god that most of you have already seen that one. You can (and should) stream Bohemian Rhapsody on Amazon Prime.
And even though we can’t believe it was nominated for anything you can watch Avengers: Infinity War on Netflix as well as the uber-arty Roma.
And Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs is on HBO and HBO Go…we suggest that you pair that one with a bong.
THE ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK
This weekend we’ll be celebrating warmer weather (and trying to forget that it snowed this week) with a limited release from Boston Beer that plays well in late February. Brewed unapologetically with ONLY Noble Tettnang hops, Samuel Adams Bavarian Lager is a 5.5% ABV late winter to spring release with florid aromatics and a crisp and clean finish.
