Observed annually on November 11, Veterans Day honors the nation’s military veterans. And some prominent breweries are commemorating those who’ve served with special beers and opportunities…

Bell’s Goin’ Dark in Honor of Veterans

Almost two dozen Bell’s Brewery employees who either served in the military, are currently enlisted or are military family members, created a celebratory beer that is making its debut on Veterans Day to honor veterans, active duty military members and their families.

Bell’s Goin’ Dark is a 6.3% ABV Coffee Milk Stout brewed with bourbon barrel-aged coffee beans. The special Veterans Day beer will be tapped on Nov. 11, at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan.

The third release from Bell’s Celebration Series, special beers that “highlight different groups within the company that make Bell’s Brewery what it is,” Goin’ Dark is also available for purchase on Veterans Day in bottles or cans at Bell’s General Store.

Cascade Brewing & Team Rubicon Collaborate on Special Veterans Day Beer

In collaboration with Team Rubicon, Cascade Brewing is releasing a special IPA on Veterans Day, which will benefit the veteran-led disaster response non-profit that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams to provide immediate relief to those impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises.

Brewed with Yakima Chief Hops’ 2018 Veterans Blend, which includes Cashmere, Centennial, Ekuanot, Mosaic and Simcoe hops, Cascade Continued Service is an American IPA with bright tropical flavors along with a balanced bitterness and dry finish.

Available on draft and in 16-ounce cans at both of the brewery’s pubs, as well as on tap throughout the Portland area, Cascade Brewing has committed to donating 100% of Cascade Continued Service sales to Team Rubicon.

Additionally, Yakima Chief Hops will be donating $3 from every pound sold of the 2018 Veterans Blend, used in this project, to the Semper Fi Fund, a non-profit that provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 combat wounded, critically ill and catastrophically injured service members.
