These are no longer normal times…So why drink something normal?

And we’ve more new releases, all of them sours, that pair smartly with these wild, wild times.

Spilled Sour Series (New Orleans, LA) – Urban South Brewery, the largest craft brewery in New Orleans, which also has a satellite location in Houston, has a new series of “Spilled” Sours that are now available in both locations.

Developed at Urban South’s Houston brewery, the “Spilled” series includes four different styles of heavily fruited sour beers with a variety of flavor profiles.

  • Urban South Spill – These easy-drinking, heavily fruited sours come in single, double and triple varieties which refer to the amount of fruit added to the sour base. Currently available in flavors like Raspberry Lemonade, Pineapple and Strawberry Kiwi. Approximately 5% ABV.
  • Urban South Spilled – With a slightly higher alcohol content, Spilled beers also come in single, double and triple varieties. Currently available in flavors like Strawberry Watermelon, Tangerine and Peach Tea. 6-6.5% ABV.
  • Urban South Spilt – This sour base is conditioned with tons of fresh fruit and a higher alcohol content. 8% ABV.
  • Urban South Spillage – The most recent exploration in the series, Spillage is a true sour IPA starting with barrel-aged sour beer blended with a double IPA base. 7% ABV., Serious Sour Beers For Tumultuous Times

Punch Drunk (Frederick, MD) – Flying Dog Brewery has a punchy new limited release that was named after one of boxing’s most vicious moves… Crafted with balanced blend of blood orange, pineapple and cheery juices, Flying Dog Vicious Hook is a 5.3% ABV “Fruit Punch” Sour…a sweet and sour combo that might leave you ‘hooked.’

Dream Time (Portland, OR) – A Pacific Northwest leader in sour blends, Cascade Brewing has an intoxicating new release that’s a dream come true. Available now in 500ml bottles, Cascade Nectarine Dream 2019 is a blend of sour blond ales aged in oak barrels and foudres for up to 18 months, then naturally fermented with fresh, Northwest grown nectarines and aged on the fruit for an additional five months.
