New Russian River Brewery

Yikes…There’s so much stuff going on! And things are only accelerating in the craft beer biz. But no worries, Rumor Mill remains on the case, keeping you plugged in into all the beer news and lifestyle that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you don’t want to miss that!

And So It Begins (Windsor, CA) – Russian River’s Natalie Cilurzo shared via her most recent blog post, that construction on their long-planned new brewery in nearby Windsor, California had ACTUALLY begun!

Expected to become one of California’s premier beer tourist destinations, the new Windsor facility will  thankfully be larger than Russian River’s current home in Santa Rosa, with ample room for around 175 beer lovers, and outside seating as well.

Situated on 15 acre plot on Windsor’s west side, Russian River’s new state-of-the-art compound will include a production facility and brewpub, a tasting room and a swag shop. There’s also going to be an elevated walkway for those “elevated” patrons taking brewery tours that follows the brewing process from the mash to the glass.

Words To Drink By (Princeton, NJ) – “Anyone who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new.”  Albert Einstein, Theoretical physicist

Motorhead who has already released a specially branded family of wine, whiskey and beers over the years, is collaborating with Amplified Ale Works (you gotta love it!), and will soon be releasing Born To Lose IPA, a 6.5% West Coast-style India Pale Ale brewed with Pacific Northwest hops and appropriately, British malt.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Garland, TX) – Last night we tapped a VERY seductive limited release that’s part of Lakewood Brewing’s Seduction series. French Quarter Temptress Imperial Milk Stout is a 9.1% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with lactose sugar and vanilla – that is then aged in bourbon barrels with coffee beans (from Noble Coyote Coffee Roasters) and chicory. Yesssssssssssss!
