Dogfish Head Partners With Apparel Brand For New Clothing Line
Who knew there was a clothing brand dedicate to nautical rowing and rugby apparel?
Evidently Milton, Delaware-based Dogfish Head’s, Sam Calagione did. And he’s partnered with Jack Carlson, US team athlete and World Championships medalist who started the Rowing Blazers, to launch a limited-edition clothing collection inspired by both brands’ connections to the water.
“Jack and I have been friends for a number of years, and I have great respect and affinity for the rugged and fun, nautical-themed brand he and his co-workers have built, so I am beyond excited for the launch of this collaboration,” said Dogfish Head Founder Sam Calagione…
“Just like me and Jack, our brands have a lot of intrinsic similarities: an eclectic and off-centered style; we take our work, but not ourselves too seriously; and we are happiest on or by a body of water, boats in sight and beer in hand.”
The Dogfish Head x Rowing Blazers line includes…
- A polo shirt embroidered with SeaQuench Ale’s ingredients
- A 90s-inspired long-sleeve tee with an illustrated dogfish shark rowing in a boat and sipping SeaQuench Ale
- A co-branded cap; a can-shaped glass
- A three-pack of enamel lapel pins and a special-edition, SeaQuench Ale-themed 19.2oz can koozie to complement folks’ apparel choices.
Dropping on Thursday, November 5, this exclusive Dogfish Head x Rowing Blazers gear will be available (while supplies last) at Dogfish Head’s website and in Dogfish Head’s coastal Delaware retail stores.

New Charlie Papazian Collaboration Beer
Charlie Papazian, an icon and pioneer in the world of craft brewing, has collaborated with Toronto, Canada’s Great Lakes Brewery to brew a special limited release for the annual Ontario Craft Brewers Conference.
A work in progress for close to a year, Papazian was to be in Niagara Falls, Canada as a keynote speaker for the OCB Conference. There were also plans for Charlie to visit us here at GLB to work on a beer together. Unfortunately, COVID changed those plans…And things moved into a virtual realm.
Over a delicious Zoom call back in September, GLB and Charlie teamed up to collaborate on Fist Bump, an American style hybrid lager. Charlie spent time with GLB’s Mike Lackey and Nick Perry going over the recipe, its ingredients and crucial steps in the brewing process.
And with Covid-19 still lurking around, Papazian virtually kicked off the conference on October 27th. And Charlie will join hundreds of Ontario brewing professionals for a virtual cheers and tasting, joined by Lackey and Perry, on Thursday October 29th.
