The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening while you were drinking your way through the weekend.

Pistonhead Donates 70,000 Cans of Beer to Music Venues

Named and inspired by the legendary Norwegian rock band, the Pistonhead Foundation is an organization that supports struggling musicians, artists and music venues in the UK, as well as a beer brand created by Brutal Brewing in 2011.

And with music venues slowly reopening in the United Kingdom, the foundation is offering grassroots music venues free beer to helpngenerate a little profit at a difficult time. According to UK Music, a British organization which represents the collective interests of the production side of United Kingdom’s commercial music industry, more than 35% of the music venues in the country have closed over the last decade and COVID-19 is only accelerating things.

“The UK’s grassroots music venues have been amongst the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic,’ says Michael Kill of Night Time Industries Association. “The Pistonhead Foundation campaign will go some way towards helping struggling venues get back on their feet, which in turn, will provide a wealth of much-needed opportunities for musicians.”

Craft Brewers Conference Early Registration Now Open

Registration for the 2021 Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America scheduled to take place on Sept. 9-12 in Denver is now open.

On January 12, the Brewers Association who present this industry conference in different cities annually announced that it was moving the Craft Brewers Conference that was scheduled to take place in San Diego in 2021, to Denver, which is closer to the BA’s Boulder, Colorado headquarters, and probably easier for the trade organization to pull off as it adjusts to the changing landscape imposed by COVID-19.

To ensure a safe and fun experience, the conference will have a reduced capacity this year, and all educational seminars will require advance signup to guarantee a seat.

Early Bird pricing, offering substantial discounts is available now through August 9th, so you know what to do.
