The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening while you were drinking your way through the weekend.

Empire State Building Gets Its Own Sky-High Beer

One reason that people enjoy drinking beer is that they appreciate the high it delivers. And now there’s a beer that’s meant to be enjoyed up high, like skyscraper high. One of the world’s tallest buildings the Empire State Building, has just gotten its own exclusive beer, but if you want to try it, you’ll have to head up 86 floors.

View from the Top of the Empire State Building Hazy IPA is a new beer sold exclusively at the legendary New York City skyscraper, arriving courtesy of the Manhattan craft beer retail chain Craft + Carry which brewed the India Pale Ale in collaboration with Brooklyn’s Five Boroughs Brewing.

Cash + Carry, one of NYC’s best craft beer retail chains, is now operating a popup with one of the best views in New York City. And in addition to its “sky-high only” hazy IPA. They’re also offering an intoxicating mix different New York-made beers and ciders.

If you want to grab a “brew with a view” (and who doesn’t?) head to the special 90th Anniversary cart on the 86th Floor within the Observatory Experience on Thursdays from 4pm to 10pm or Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4pm to 11pm for the rest of November.

Dancing Gnome Opens New Production Brewery and Taproom in Pittsburgh

Over the summer American Craft Beer was invited to Pittsburgh to cover its impressive craft beer scene. And we spent an early evening drinking beer with Andrew Witchy, a very cool guy, and the Founder of Dancing Gnome, one of the city’s most popular craft brewing operations.

And while we were there Witchy walked us over to see the new brewery and taproom he was building just up the street from his original location. It wasn’t opened then, but it is now, and Pittsburgh’s Sharpsburg neighborhood is all that much richer for it.

This is definitely a ‘must’ when you’re in town…

Designed to build upon the coziness Dancing Gnome’s original taproom, but at the same time take it to the next level, its new home features a state-of-the-art 20bbl production facility to address the growing demand for its beers, and a spacious light-filled taproom made for hanging.
