The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were enjoying the weekend.

Dogfish Head & Survivor TV Show Partner

The CBS network has partnered with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery to celebrate the milestone 50th season of the reality competition show, Survivor. And, not surprisingly, this new partnership came with a special beer.

“I’ve watched Survivor alongside my family for years, so when the opportunity came about to collaborate with the show to celebrate their 50th season, I couldn’t have been more excited,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head brewer and founder, in a news release. “Working alongside my fellow brewers, we wanted to create a reward-worthy beer embodying the show’s island setting. Together, we landed on a beautifully refreshing hazy IPA with all the tropical aromas and flavors you’d expect to find on a jaunt around a Fijian paradise.”

Inspired by the show’s tropical Fijian set Coconut Etiquette is a 6.2% ABV hazy IPA brewed with toasted coconut and passionfruit. The beer was sold as part of a limited-edition $50 kit that includes a custom pint glass and a bandana but unfortunately this special gift pack sold out almost immediately. The good news is you can still score additional “Dogfish Head x Survivor Season 50” merch at the brewery’s online store.

New Belgium Fat Tire Ale Returns

The wait is finally over for beer purists: the original Fat Tire is officially back.

After a few years of experimentation, New Belgium Brewing is hitting the “rewind” button to celebrate its 35th anniversary. Starting May 4, 2026, the brewery is bringing back the classic 1988 recipe for its flagship Fat Tire Amber Ale. This move marks a pivot away from the lighter “golden ale” redesign introduced in 2023, which was aimed at a younger crowd but left longtime fans missing that familiar, malt-forward profile.

This isn’t just a solo comeback, either. The original Fat Tire will lead a nostalgic variety pack featuring other retired staples like Sunshine Wheat (a 4.8% ABV Belgian-style Witbier) and Blue Paddle ( a 4.8% ABV Czech-style Pilsner).

For now, the release is a limited-run celebration of the brewery’s roots. While the 2023 version had a massive national footprint, this classic revival is kicking off in Northern Colorado. However, given the buzz, expect it to pop up in more markets as the anniversary tour picks up steam.
