Move Over Yoo-Hoo (Athens, GA) – It’s time again to graduate to the adult version of chocolate milk with Terrapin Beer Company‘s Moo-Hoo Chocolate Stout. Enhanced with cocoa nibs and shells from the boutique chocolatier Olive & Sinclair in Nashville, TN, the rich and creamy concoction will make you think you’re having milk and cookies in the same glass. Part of their Seasonal Sessions collection, look for it now in four packs and on draft through the first of the year.
Your Early Morning Buzz – (Dover, DE) Step aside coffee, because now you can have a brewed and buzzed beverage with your morning scramble – Dominion Brewing Company‘s full-bodied espresso stout Morning Glory. To craft the robust stout, the brewery reached out to local coffee shop Espresso-N-Ice to participate in roasting 65 pounds of their coffee that the stout warmed on for 13 days. For the collectors, the brew’s label will feature Dominion’s final pin-up inspired “Bomber Girl” for 2012. As they say, the early bird gets the worm – this eye-opener will only be available for a limited time on draft and in conditioned 22 oz bottles.
One-Day Only Black Friday Brew (Milwaukee, WI) – If the thought of coffee-infused beer isn’t enough to get you going over the holiday, then perhaps Lakefront Brewery‘s Black Friday brew will entice you to get an early start. The imperial India-style black ale will go on sale at 8:00 am at the brewery, located on Commerce Street, and it will only be available for purchase on Black Friday. In addition to the exclusive brew, the first 300 people that buy the beer will get a limited ‘Black Friday’ pint glass. Those who miss out on the glassware can still jump on the brewery’s tour, which will be offered for 12 continuous hours that day. Better reprioritize your shopping schedules this Friday – we hear that beer makes the crowds more tolerable.
Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice – That’s What This Stout is Made Of (Richmond, VA) – Christmas cheer came early to Richmond this past weekend with the annual release of Hardywood Brewery‘s highly anticipated Gingerbread Stout. In its short existence, the Imperial Milk Stout has already received numerous accolades, such as gaining a perfect 100 score in Beer Advocate Magazine and winning bronze at the 2012 World Beer Cup in the herb and spice beer category. The holiday brew features local baby ginger and wildflower honey balanced with a generous dose of whole Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans and Vietnamese cinnamon. If the aromatics aren’t enough to have you dreaming of sugarplums and candy canes, the creamy gingersnap taste will certainly fill you with holiday warmth.
“When You Grow It, You Know It” (Independence, OR) – Rogue Ales continues its “Grow Your Own” philosophy by releasing two new beverages in its farmstead series Chatoe Rogue: Chatoe Roguenbier Rye Ale and 19 Original Colonies Mead. As part of the brewery’s mission to help save the terroir of Oregon one acre at time, the new brews are made exclusively with products harvested from their own 200-acre Micro Barley Farm in Oregon’s Tygh Valley Appellation and their 42-acre micro Hopyard in Oregon’s Wigrich Appellation. The Roguenbier is made up of 100% Rogue hops, barley and rye, and the 19 Original Colonies Mead features hopyard and wildflower honey harvested from bee farms onsite, in addition to Jasmine green tea leaves and champagne yeast. Both brews will be available nationwide in bottles and on draft this month.
