, Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – January 3 2013Maui Says Aloha (Lahaina, Maui, HI) – Maui Brewing Company has just announced the release of Aloha B’ak’tun, the last of four limited release beers for 2012. Aloha B’ak’tun is a Belgian style Stout brewed with chocolate from the Big Island and locally-grown chipotle peppers and cinnamon. This special edition stout is currently available on draft at the Maui Brewing Co. brewpub and is being canned for distribution to retailers by mid-January. The ABV on this beer comes in at a reasonable 7%.

Bigfoot Sighted (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada’s legendary Bigfoot is out there. Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine evidently shipped out a little earlier than expected and is at retail now. Bigfoot is now featured in four-packs for the first time as part of the brewery’s High Altitude Series. And while we’re talking Chico, the 2013 Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA will soon be returning. The first shipment recently left the brewery and will filter out to the market over the next several weeks.

Getting Brainless in Utah (Salt Lake City, UT) – Epic Brewing Company has just announced the release of something special. Brainless® on Peaches is a Belgian-Style Ale that’s been aged in French Chardonnay casks with peach puree that acts as secondary fermentation. Also keep an eye out for , Newbies – New Craft Beer Releases That You Want to Look Out For – January 3 2013Epic’s Santa Cruz Brown Ale. ‘Santa Cruz Brown’ is Epic’s take on the Black IPA and according to their newsletter, it should be rolling out now.

21st Amendment Sneak Attack! (San Francisco, CA) – The folks at 21st Amendment Brewery have announced that they’re fighting winter by releasing a summer beer as their “brand new winter seasonal.” (Okay…we think we’re following.) Sneak Attack is a Summer Saison released as its newest cold-weather beer. (It’s their sneak attack against winter- get it?) Okay so Sneak Attack a summer beer released in the winter. What’s it going to be called next summer? Just asking…

Some Strange Brew (Atlanta, GA) – SweetWater Brewing Company has announced the newest addition to their Dank Tank Series. Look for Some Strange II Black IPA, an imperial-sized Black IPA, to hit the streets in February. This will be a huge beer, coming in at 10% ABV. Strange II will be available in 22 oz. bottles – so go wild!
