With the new year now here, 2020 is ON. And American craft brewers are addressing the season with a variety of offerings that are cold weather-ready.

New Holland Milks It (Holland, MI) – New Holland Brewing Company will be shipping its first Dragon’s Milk Reserve Series release of 2020 in January. The series showcases Dragon’s Milk Imperial Stout in a completely new way. 2020’s first variation was aged for three months in rum barrels imported from Jamaica and finished on over 2,500 pounds of coconut, 1,000 pounds of toasted hazelnut and 200 pounds of chocolate. (12.5% ABV)

Bet On Black (Williamsburg, VA) – The Virginia Beer Company has announced its first can release of 2020 which triples down on an award-winning recipe. Melding a dark, malty base with a massive dry-hopping featuring Simcoe, Mosaic, and Amarillo hops, Virginia Beer’s Night Shades is a 10.4% ABV Triple Black IPA with a sturdy malt foundation and a bight hoppy bite.

Berlin Born (Denver, CO) – Seedstock Brewery is known for creating beers that no one else in the US is doing and this week its returning an award-winning fav. Brewed in the ‘Dusseldorf’ tradition/style, meaning that the  5% ABV Dusseldorf Alt bier is less sweet and more bitter than the more common Northern German style alt bier.

, New Winter Beers: Alt Biers, Stouts and Hazy IPA’sStone Succumbs to Never-Ending Haze (Escondido, CA) – Tapping into two of 2019’s biggest brewing trends, lower ABV beers and the hazy IPA, Stone Brewing is releasing its first Stone Pilot Series beer of 2020. Brewed using a Norwegian Voss Kveik Ale yeast which in addition to fermenting quicker at warmer temperatures produces intense orange citrus notes, Stone Neverending Haze IPA is a 4% ABV India Pale Ale with a medium body and a tangy mouthfeel.

Challenging (Cloverdale, CA) – Bear Republic Brewing has announced its first Challenge Series release of 2020. Aggressively fueled on Chinook, Calypso, Comet and Bravo hops. Bear Republic Challenge Series #19 is a 6.9% ABV Hazy IPA ale with a fruit-forward, juicy character and an uber-citrusy finish.
