Brewers are celebrating summer’s end and fall’s soon-to-come arrival with an interesting roster of beers to match the changing season.

Sometimes You Just Want A Beer (Normal, IL) – DESTIHL Brewery has built much of its reputation on beers that are anything but ordinary. Now the Central Illinois brewery is going in the opposite direction. This September, DESTIHL is launching Normal Beer, a new standalone American Light Lager created for drinkers who don’t need every beer to be an adventure.

The new lager is brewed with 100% barley malt and no corn or rice, keeping at least one foot firmly planted in DESTIHL’s craft brewing roots. It clocks in at a sessionable 4% ABV and just 99 calories per 12-ounce serving. And yes, the name is very much the point.

Normal Beer is a deliberate departure from the bold beers that helped put DESTIHL on the craft beer map, including its DeadHead IPA and Wild Sour series. Instead, the brewery is betting on something clean, familiar, affordable and easy drinking.

Normal Beer will begin rolling out across Illinois in early September, with expansion into DESTIHL’s roughly 40-state distribution network expected to follow in the coming weeks and months.

Amber Waves (Atlanta, GA) – New Realm Brewing Co. has a relatively new addition to year-round roster designed for drinkers who seek a flavor without the heavy weight of traditional dark beers.

Born and brewed in the Southeast, New Realm Amber Lager is crafted with a meticulous selection of malts that provide a rich, toasted grain character and a hint of caramel sweetness. But despite its deep color and complex flavor, the beer maintains a crisp 4.4% ABV approachability making it a versatile “anytime” beer.

“We wanted to craft a lager brewed with carefully selected malts that deliver a brilliant copper hue and inviting depth of flavor,” said the New Realm brewing team. “Subtle notes of toasted grain and light caramel sweetness lead the way, balanced by a delicate touch of hops. It’s crisp and refreshing with a clean finish.”

Stay Wreck-less, Not Reckless (Lafayette, CO) – Wilding Brands, the locally-owned collective of craft beverage brands, has entered the non-alcoholic arena with Roadie, a new line of true 0.0 craft beers for beer fans who want the taste, craft, and beer culture without the hangover.

Roadie launches with two styles. Both are 0.0 percent ABV and 90 calories:

• Roadie IPA – Hops, attitude and zero regrets. Roadie N/A IPA delivers true dank and citrusy IPA flavor without the hangover.
• Roadie Mexi-Style Salt & Lime – Roadie N/A Mexi-Style brew is bright and crushable, refresher brewed with a punch of citrus and a snap of salt.
