2021, hopefully a better year, is officially ON. And we’ve some fun new beer releases to pair with your weekend.
Get Juiced (Portland, OR) – Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB), the first B Corp brewery in the Pacific Northwest, is returning a popular spring seasonal that generated all kinds of buzz when it debuted last year. Brewed with a smart medley of Nelson Sauvin, Hallertau Blanc, and Lemondrop hops, HUB Juicy Bear IPA is a 6.5% ABV India Pale Ale with big guava, white grape, and gooseberry aromatics. The can’s original artwork was hand-drawn by artist Martin Ontiveros.
“Juicy Bear IPA was inspired by the diet of the ubiquitous black bears of the Pacific Northwest. Black bears feast all summer on juicy berries, which led us to create a unique blend of three hops from three different continents to mimic that experience,” said Christian Ettinger, Founder and Brewmaster at Hopworks. “Great flavor, original artwork, and sustainable brewing—what’s not to love?”
Everyday Beer For Every Day (Longmont, CO) – Oskar Blues has a new addition to its year-round portfolio that’s made for “everyday drinking,” the kind of beer brewed for pairing with another. Crafted using German lagering techniques honed for the brewery’s Slow Chill Lager Series, Oskar’s Lager is an ultra-crisp, uber-smooth 4.2% ABV Lager with only 95 calories and 2.5 carbs per 12oz can.
Star-Crossed (Milwaukee, WI) – Indeed Brewing has announced its first bottle release of 2021 and it sounds promising. Brewed to emulate the beloved fried Mexican treat, Indeed Star-Crossed Mexican Chocolate Churro Stout is an 8.5% ABV dessert stout brewed with sweet and bittersweet tones and a lactose-fueled uber-creamy mouthfeel.
Elder-Hazed (St Paul, MN) – Summit Brewing is returning an IPA that’s exclusive to its Summit Mixed Pack IPA Edition. Brewed with whole Elderflowers and a smart menu of Rakau, Bru 1 and Motueka hops, Summit Elderflower IPA is a boldly unfiltered 6.2% ABV India Pale Ale with rich lavender, honeydew and bubble gum notes.
