No matter what you think about the idea of an apple-flavored light beer, or even Busch as a brand, its new video which parodies Silicon Valley culture is HILARIOUS…
Here’s the deal…
With more people than ever drinking at home thanks to COVID-19, traditional beer brands which are widely distributed and more affordable than craft beer, are enjoying a resurgence. And one of the beers experiencing a sales bounce is Busch Light which saw its sales increase 44%, in March and April according to inMarket, a data analysis firm.
Todd Dipaola, CEO of inMarket, told CNN Business that the coronavirus lockdown played a part in Busch Light’s recent rise…
“In a situation where tens of millions of people just got laid off or furloughed, people are definitely thinking about their wallets. A lot of people are buying lite beers because they’re not moving around as much, so lower calorie beers make a lot of sense.”
With big sales momentum behind it, the Anheuser-Busch InBev owned brand took the opportunity to introduce a new product on Monday…and we gotta admit they did it hysterically.
Utilizing the company’s “official spokesman” the Busch Guy, the brand takes on Silicon Valley’s tech business culture in a three minute spot that absolutely nails it…
As part of the Busch Light Apple launch, the company is also running the “Apple Beer Replacement Protection” promotion which, as is customary with these kinds of things, is basically an opportunity to win free beer (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
And in this era of social media the rules couldn’t be simpler…
To qualify, beer fans have to take a picture with a Busch Light Apple and post it on social media with hashtags #BuschProtection and #Promotion.
The first 1,000 drinkers to do so between before July 17 could win $10 towards a replacement pack…But that replacement has to be a Busch Light Apple so there’s that.
You also have to 21 years or older to enter or have a convincing fake ID…so there’s that too.
