More Flavors Through Hops (Paso Robles, CA) – The latest edition of Firestone Walker’s Luponic Distortion Series is now available and this variation harnesses six hops from three continents to deliver explosive fruit flavors of peach, pear drop and dragonfruit.
Luponic Distortion is not a single beer, but rather an ongoing series of beers that rotate approximately every 120 days. While the base beer always remains the same, each release features a different hop blend built around new and experimental hops, designed to showcase the growing possibilities of pure hop aromas and flavors without any assist from fruit or other adjuncts.
“We combined some our favorite new hops from New Zealand, Germany and the Pacific Northwest to create this really unique flavor profile,” said Firestone Walker Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “Luponic Distortion is this beer that can keep morphing and stay interesting and remain out in front of this crazy new hop wave,”
Back in the Daze (San Diego, CA) – Just in time for baseball season (whether it happens this year, or not) AleSmith Brewing is releasing a hazy variation of a collaboration they did with Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn in 2014…Now available on draft and in 12oz cans, AleSmith Hazy .394 is a 6% ABV India Pale Ale with BIG fruit and citrus aromatics and a creamy, full-bodied finish.
Tiki Toc (Malden, MA) – Idle Hands Craft Ales has a new addition to its Kill Your Idles Series, a line of new age kettle soured beers committed to expanding flavor profiles well beyond the traditional. The latest installment to the series, Tiki is a 5.6% ABV fruited kettle sour brewed with a mix of fruit puree (pineapple, tangerine, peach, blackberry, cherry, key lime) and almonds. This is a beach beer, or a beer to drink on your couch while you’re stuck in the house and dreaming of the beach.
