Spring has sprung and American craft brewers are addressing things with exciting new beers (all IPAs!) you’re gonna want to have around.
Hopnosis Psychosis (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker is growing its “Hopnosis” family with a new variation that’s available in uber-gracious 19.2oz cans. Boldly brewed with nearly five pounds of hops per barrel and dry-hopped with liberal amounts of Mosaic Cryo Hops® as well as Citra, Chinook and Vic Secret, Double Hopnosis is an 8.3% ABV Imperial India Pale Ale that is fermented with Firestone Walker’s house lager yeast in the Cold IPA style.
“Brewed with our favorite emerging hops from the Pacific Northwest and Southern Hemisphere, then extravagantly double dry-hopped with Cryo Hops Double Hopnosis has roots in the original era of West Coast imperial IPAs while showcasing the Cold IPA style,” Brynildson said. “The overall experience is modernized by a lower impression of bitterness, a higher rate of tropical character and a new achievement of balance and drinkability. “We call this our new-school rendition of a classic imperial West Coast IPA.”

The Pause That Refreshes (San Diego, CA) – Modern Times Beer has an interesting new release that’s the first in a series of highly innovative Double IPAs planned for 2023. Crafted using a process of estery Juice yeast, mid-fermentation dry hop, and secret mineral additions. Modern Times Pause To Effect is an 8% ABV Hazy India Pale Ale with layers upon layers of citrus and tropical notes that continue to transform throughout the life of the beer.
