Brewers are celebrating fall’s arrival with a seasonal roster of beers, some perfect for campfire outings, others ideal for weekend football.
Masterful (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing is returning a perennial fall favorite and it’s now available in generous 16oz cans. Made with more than 3,000 pounds of locally grown Pennsylvania longneck pumpkins, a hearty heirloom variety similar to butternut squash, Tröegs Master of Pumpkins is a subtly spiced 7.5% ABV Pumpkin Ale with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla, backed by caramel malt.
“To us, a pumpkin beer should have pumpkin,” says brewmaster John Trogner. “We’re a Pennsylvania brewery, and pumpkins grow really well here, so using Pennsylvania pumpkins just makes sense. Tröegs lovers definitely appreciate the connection to local agriculture.”
A European Classic Gets An American Makeover (Boston, MA) – Samuel Adams has an approachable new addition to its fall roster that’s only available in its Fall Legends Variety Pack.
Crafted using Samuel Adams’ Two-Row Pale malt, classic lager yeast, and uniquely dry-hopped with Motueka hops, Harvest Helles is a 5.4% ABV American take on the style that departs slightly from a traditional, strictly bready Munich Helles due to the addition of modern dry-hopping techniques.

Samuel Adams’ uber-limited fall release features a welcome combination of sweet cracker and biscuit malts and a subtle fruitiness. And the Motueka hops contribute unexpected undertones of lemon zest, green apple, pear, and stone fruit to the mix.
Get Rolled (New Orleans, LA) – Urban South Brewery has returned an uber-aggressive fall seasonal that currently available in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.
Brewed with blood orange and a deft mix of Citra, Mosaic and Centennial hops, Urban South Unholy Roller, is an 8% ABV India Pale Ale with a big hop character that gives way to a juicy mouthfeel.
“Part of the fun of brewing at Urban South is finding ways to put our own spin on styles people already know,” said Jacob Landry, Co-Founder of Urban South Brewery. “Unholy Roller takes everything we love about a Double IPA and adds a bold fruit element that makes it distinctly Urban South. It’s bold, a little unexpected and allows us to have some fun with what a Double IPA can be.”
