Love them or hate them, pumpkin beers remain a craft beer reminder that fall is most certainly coming. And few American breweries have embraced the pumpkin beer quite like Elysian Brewing.

Elysian started experimenting with pumpkin beers in the late 1990s and has reportedly brewed well over 100 different pumpkin creations since then, ranging from relatively traditional autumn ales to considerably more adventurous takes on the style.

The brewery’s commitment  to pumpkin beers eventually gave birth to the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival, Elysian’s annual invitational fall festival that drew partner brewers and pumpkin beer fans (some of them in pumpkin costumes) from all over the Pacific Northwest. It was a wild event and things got crazy.

Over the years, the brewery has brewed pumpkin beers with coffee, cocoa, peppers, spices and all kinds of other ingredients that probably never expected to end up in the same fermenter.

And now three of Elysian’s best-known pumpkin beers are back for the 2026 fall season as part of the brewery’s highly anticipated Pumpkin Variety Pack

Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale

Night Owl was Elysian’s first pumpkin ale, and decades later it remains the beer at the center of the brewery’s fall lineup.

Brewed with pumpkin and roasted and raw pumpkin seeds, then conditioned with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger and allspice, Elysian Night Owl is a 6.7% ABV Pumpkin Ale that delivers an appropriately seasonal profile without turning the beer into liquid pumpkin pie.

It’s the most traditional of the three beers, and probably the best place to start if your idea of fall drinking involves pumpkin, spice and something stronger than cider.

Elysian Punkuccino Coffee Pumpkin Ale

Seattle takes its coffee seriously. Elysian takes its pumpkin beer seriously. And Punkuccino blends those two obsessions together.

Brewed with pumpkin and coffee, Elysian Punkuccino is a 6% ABV Coffee Pumpkin Ale that adds a roasted edge to the familiar sweetness and spice of the style.

The coffee changes the equation considerably, making Punkuccino darker, toastier and less conventionally pumpkin-spiced than Night Owl. It’s also an interesting alternative for beer drinkers who normally approach pumpkin ales with considerable suspicion.

Elysian Great Pumpkin Imperial Pumpkin Ale

And then there’s the big one.

Elysian credits Great Pumpkin as the world’s first Imperial Pumpkin Ale, a beer designed to take everything about the style and turn the volume up to 11.

Brewed with pumpkin and roasted pumpkin seeds, Great Pumpkin clocks in at a formidable 8.4% ABV. Bigger, richer and more intense than Night Owl, it helped establish the idea that pumpkin beers can be unapologetically aggressive..

More than two decades after Elysian began pushing pumpkin beer into increasingly strange territory, Great Pumpkin remains a reminder of just how seriously the brewery takes a style that plenty of beer drinkers still refuse to take seriously.

So yeah, Elysian’s still all about the grand gordian beer style.

And with Night Owl, Punkuccino and Great Pumpkin returning for 2026, this brewery clearly isn’t ready walk away from their signature pumpkin beers anytime soon.
