Summer is ON and American craft brewers are addressing a time when beer lovers tend to migrate a little from craft IPAs to the rich world of lagers.
Cinco De Mayo Beer (Portland OR) – May 4 is Cinco De Mayo and Von Ebert Brewing is celebrating things with announced the release of two new takes on the Mexican lager. Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “Fifth of May”) is an annual celebration that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, but in the states its primarily a cultural celebration that pairs well with the right beer.
Von Ebert Dusk is a 5.3% ABV Mexican-Style Dark Lager with a lightly toasted and subtle caramel sweetness and Von Ebert Dawn is a 5.3% ABV Mexican-Style Pale Lager with crisp, quaffable notes of orange blossom, light corn sweetness and cracker malt. These seasonal series lagers will be available at all Von Ebert Brewing locations in draft and 16 oz cans, as well as in some Northwest retailers, restaurants and bars while they last (and we promise you they won’t last long.)
“Mexican-Style Lagers – pale or dark – are traditional beers we wanted to evolve with our own Von Ebert Brewing flare,” said Sam Pecoraro, brewmaster of Von Ebert Brewing. “We hope you come out and join us ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ on Cinco de Mayo or pick up a four-pack as we welcome warmer weather with these light, quaffable beers.”

Money Honey! (Bend, OR) – in 2025 10 Barrel Brewing released a new take on a Japanese classic, that after earning well-deserved reputation as a taproom fav finally saw wider distribution. And that beer has become one of the brewery’s most popular lagers, as well as an ACB compound after-work automatic.
Brewed for those nights when karaoke starts to sound like a good idea, 10 Barrel Money Cat is a 4.8% ABV Japanese-inspired Rice Lager, a crisp amalgamation of subtle sweetness, mild bitterness, moderate carbonation and a low, floral hop aroma, that should pair brilliantly with spring’s arrival.
A Classic Pils (White Plains, NY) – Paulaner USA is the US importer of the legendary Paulaner Brewery portfolio including a German classic (now in 16.9oz cans) with a recipe that the brewery has been refining since the mid-1800s.
Crisp, clean, and true to tradition, Paulaner Pils is a 4.9% ABV Bavarian Pilsner with bright, floral hop aromatics and a brisk dry finish.
“Since 1634, Paulaner has been dedicated to the art of brewing and we strictly follow the Reinheitsgebot, Germany’s beer purity law,” says Steve Hauser, CEO of Paulaner USA. “We continue to stay true to our mastered brewing techniques and only use select, high-quality ingredients for the utmost taste and quality.
