Summer is ON and American craft brewers are celebrating its arrival with an uber-interesting  roster of IPAs that are generating a lot of buzz this season.

Time To Get Nimble  (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has returned one of its most anticipated once-a-year releases (second only to its winter holiday Mad Elf Ale). A big beer that goes down easy,  Tröegs Nimble Giant is a rich and deep orange 9% ABV Double IPA brimming with grapefruit, pineapple and honeysuckle notes that are offset by a sturdy backbone of pilsner and Vienna malts.

Nimble Giant came up through the brewery’s small-batch Scratch Series, starting with an experiment with Mosaic hops. After about half a dozen test batches, the Tröegs brewing team landed on a hop combination everyone loved – Mosaic, Simcoe and Azacca – and never looked back.

“We loved our earliest trials with Mosaic,” says Tröegs co-founding brother and brewmaster John Trogner. “When we started dry-hopping with Mosaic and Simcoe
together, we knew we were onto something. It’s big, bold, and has a classic West-Coast bitterness.”

Bigger, Hazier, Juicier (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada Brewing has relaunched a classic that was first introduced in 2021, this time with a bigger, hazier and juicier profile. Crafted with a smart mix of Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops Sierra Nevada’s re-envisioned Big Little Thing IPA is a 9.5% ABV Hazy India Pale Ale that builds upon everything that was great about original, amps up the octane and softens the mouthfeel.

“We experimented with several Hazy Imperial IPA recipes, but when I tried this one, I was truly impressed,” said Brian Grossman, Chief Brewer and second-generation owner of Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. “It’s packed with flavor and has a smooth, pillowy texture at 9.5% ABV, without being overly sweet. It’s a great option for Hazy IPA lovers looking to take their experience to a different level.”

High Haze (Ashville, NC) – Highland Brewing was established in 1994 by Oscar Wong, a retired engineer and entrepreneur and a brewing legend in that region. It holds the distinction of being the first brewery to open in Asheville since Prohibition and is the largest independent, family-owned brewery native to the Southeast. And one of their flagship beers holds the honor of being Asheville’s first craft beer.

Originally launched as a draft-only charitable release that is now widely available, Highland Haze IPA is a vibrant, 7.4% ABV India Pale Ale with juicy citrus, ripe mango, and pineapple notes, a gentle bitterness and smooth mouth feel.
