The holidays are ON! It’s a great time for beer. And with Santa arriving soon you’re gonna need the right brews.
Nitro Greetings (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker Brewing has introduced a new winter seasonal that pairs perfectly with the winter holidays. Toned by dark-roasted specialty malts with hints of caramel and chocolate, Firestone Cinnamon Dolce Nitro Stout is a 6% ABV holiday release which was brewed with Saigon cinnamon sticks and premium Madagascar vanilla beans, then infused with nitrogen for a super-creamy mouthfeel.
“Every year, we get to play around with creating a seasonal stout, and this time we went in an entirely new direction inspired by locally sourced vanilla beans,” said Brewmaster Matt Brynildson “I think we landed on a really unique stout. You get a true nitro experience straight out of the can. It fits the season perfectly.”
Cause For Celebration (Chico, CA / Mills River, NC) – Sierra Nevada Brewing has a winter offering that New Belgium founder Kim Jordon claims is her go-to holiday beer, and we couldn’t agree with her more. First brewed in 1981, Sierra Nevada Celebration is a 6.8% ABV India Pale Ale, one of a very few hop-forward holiday beers. And because it’s a fresh-hop IPA it’s subtly different from year to year.
Don’t Open Until Christmas (Cleveland, OH) – Few holiday releases are as “classic” as Great Lakes Brewing’s award-winning winter offering. Crafted with honey in a tradition that can be traced back to the Middle Ages, Great Lakes Christmas Ale is a 7.5% ABV award-winning Winter Warmer pumped with delicate cinnamon and ginger spicing and rich chocolate-covered cherry tones.
Isolation Nation (Fort Collins, CO) – Both approachable and at the same time complex, Odell Brewing offers one of the most interesting and sessionable holiday ales out there.
Trending more towards an English Strong Ale than a spiced Winter Warmer but combining aspects of both, Odell Isolation Ale is a 6.1% ABV holiday seasonal with a sweet-caramel malt backbone balanced by a crisp hop finish.
