We’re big fans of 805 Beer’s marketing moves and its continuing partnership with X Games is very solid. We’ve that, “Words to Drink By” and more.
Lost Coast Brewing Is Up For Sale
Lost Coast Brewing, one of California’s longtime independent craft breweries, is looking for a buyer.
Founded in Eureka in 1989 by Barbara Groom and Wendy Pound, Lost Coast emerged during the early years of the modern craft beer movement and became one of the nation’s more prominent female-founded breweries. Over the decades, beers such as Great White and Tangerine Wheat helped the brewery build a following well beyond Northern California.
Now the entire operation is reportedly up for sale.
The offering includes Lost Coast’s 80,000-plus-square-foot production brewery in Eureka, which has the capacity to produce more than 100,000 barrels annually, along with its taproom, packaging and storage facilities, brewing equipment and intellectual property.
The brewery’s brands, trademarks and recipes, as well as its established distribution relationships, are also part of the package.
The asking price is reportedly $17.5 million.
It’s another notable development for a California craft brewery that has been making beer for more than 35 years, and another reminder of just how dramatically the business has changed since Lost Coast first opened its doors in 1989.

805 Beer Extends X Games Partnership Through 2028
Firestone Walker’s 805 Beer has always sold more than beer. Since its launch in 2012, the brand has built its identity around a distinctly California lifestyle, with surfing, motorcycles, music, the outdoors and action sports playing a major role in its imagery.
And now that connection to action sports is getting extended.
The Paso Robles, California-based beer brand has renewed its partnership with X Games through 2028, continuing its presence at both X Games Aspen and X Games California.
805 Beer has spent years aligning itself with athletes, artists and craftspeople through its “805 Authenticos” roster, which includes X Games stars Tyler Bereman and Vicki Golden, surfers Conner Coffin and Lakey Peterson, mountain bikers Tyler McCaul and Ryan “R Dog” Howard and others.
The extended X Games deal is part of a much broader lifestyle strategy for 805 Beer. The Firestone Walker brand is also the Official Craft Beer of the World Surf League and has partnerships with the Vans Warped Tour, Aftershock and the Born Free motorcycle show.
“805 has never been about chasing culture, it’s about supporting the people who create it,” said Firestone Walker Chief Marketing Officer Dustin Hinz.
Under the extended agreement, 805 Beer will maintain a presence at X Games winter and summer events through 2028, with fan experiences and athlete-focused content built around both brands.
