It’s been in hibernation for three years (much longer that company expected) but the wait is finally over. And if you’re anywhere near the Windy City this is a beer destination you’ll need to hit.

Here’s the inside-skinny…

It first opened in 2014 but the pandemic put an end to that. And now with the world returning to normal the Lagunitas Taproom & Beer Sanctuary is celebrating its grand-reopening on April 13th.

“We’ve missed our Windy City friends and family, who have been waiting and asking for this day to come. All I can say is thank you for your patience and welcome back,” said Paige Guzman, Lagunitas’ Chief Marketing Officer…

“Reopening the TapRoom was no easy feat, but it was a labor of love. I’m proud of our incredible team who worked tirelessly to make this happen and reopen our doors to our fans once again.”

Located in the Douglas Park neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side, Lagunitas’ Midwest operation is vast. And there’s not one but two taprooms to enjoy the world’s freshest beers within the complex.

Lagunitas Chicago Taproom & Beer Sanctuary is located within a huge 300,000-square-foot brewery and the taproom itself affords visitors a spectacular 360-degree view of the enormous brewery.

In addition to its striking location, the TapRoom’s 32 draft lines will soon be serving up a maybe the best selection of its beer’s anywhere outside of its home base in Petaluma, California.

And in addition to offering up classic’s like its Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Wheat IPA and seasonal brews like Willetized Barrel-aged Coffee Stout, there will also be special experimental small-batch releases on tap, beers that you can only sample at the brewery.

Lagunitas’ second taproom is a more of a speakeasy operation they call “The Basement” not surprisingly because it’s tucked away in a secluded part of the basement. And in addition to the same great selection of beers it’s also the brewery’s secret playground with an oversized Jenga game and drum set to bang on.

“Our doors are open to all kinds and creeds; punk rockers, misfits, ivy leaguers, weirdos, Waldos, Sparkle Ponies, and everything in between,” said Lagunitas’ Head Brewer Jeremy Marshall. “Come as you are. We always have a spot for you at our bar.”
