From the mountains of Asheville to the shores of Wilmington, Hi-Wire Brewing continues to make bold expansion moves. Founded in Asheville, N.C. in 2013, Hi-Wire already has three locations in Asheville. They also have taprooms in Charlotte, Durham and Wilmington, NC as well as Knoxville, TN, Louisville, KY, and but they’re far from done.
In December Hi-Wire announced plans for a new brewery and taproom in Cincinnati, its ninth location and the first in Ohio. Then in February the company announced that it would be opening a new brewery and taproom, this time in Birmingham, Alabama, a city renowned for its food and beverage scene.
And if that wasn’t enough, the Asheville-based beer maker has now announced plans to open a new brewery and taproom in Nashville, a beer drinking city if ever there was one.
“We’re here to have fun,” said Hi-Wire co-owner Chris Frosaker, “and I like to think every city likes to have fun.”

The twenty-four tap bar will stock a medley of year-rounds, seasonals, specialties, sour and wild ales, one-offs, and undistributed releases from Hi-Wire, as well as hard cider and wine. And the new venue will be just a short walk away from other Nashville staples like Peg Leg Porker BBQ, Arnold’s Country Kitchen, and the Music City Center.
The Hi-Wire brand is not new to Nashville. The North Carolina brewery has been distributing beer to the city for over five years, and with each year, retail sales have grown by double digits.
“People are drinking our beer, and they know the brand,” added Frosaker. “So planting roots in Nashville just makes a lot of sense for us.”
