If craft beer’s slowing growth is a concern, you wouldn’t know it by all the brewery expansion and upgrade announcements of late….

SweetWater Brewing’s Taproom To Get A Facelift

SweetWater Brewing will be closing its taproom on October 1st for a renovation that will feature a new bar and large roll-up doors to create an indoor/outdoor space with communal seating according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Expected to re-open in January, the new taproom upgrade includes the addition of a kitchen that in addition offering a bar menu for taproom guests, will allow the brewery to also cater private events at the venue.

Brewery Vivant To Get A Sibling

Jason and Kris Spalding, co-owners of Brewery Vivant in Grand Rapids are getting closer to opening a new production brewery and taproom in the nearby city of Kentwood, Michigan according to mlive.

In addition to serving up plenty of Brewery Vivant core offerings, the yet unnamed 17, 000 square foot microbrewery will have what the Spalding’s are calling a Belgian “farmhouse-beer focus.”

Lawson’s Finest to Open New Brewery & Taproom

Karen and Sean Lawson’s popular craft brewery, Lawson’s Finest Liquids, will soon be getting a new home, not far from their original brewing hub in Vermont’s scenic Mad River Valley that they see as a “stabilizing force for the dips in tourism and their attending dollars between the seasons,” according to the Montpelier Bridge.

Lawson’s new soon-to-open venue is built to wow, with a Vermont stone and timber-structured, grand-hall style complete with fireplace, that gives way to an artisan taproom, a kitchen that will feature local meats and cheeses,  communal picnic tables, and an outdoor beer garden.

Russian River New Craft Beer Destination

“And so it begins,” Gandalf’s famous quote from the Lord of the Rings trilogy has become its own pop-cultural touchstone over the years…And in this case it applies to one of craft brewing’s most anticipated new openings.

Located on 10-acres of prime turf in Windsor, California, Russian River’s soon-to-open 85,000-square-foot brewing hub will be a huge upgrade from their current brewpub which opened in 2004 and hasn’t expanded much beyond its 175-customer capacity, as well as over their current production facility in Santa Rosa with a maximum annual capacity of 20,000 barrels.
