Craft Beer’s Seal Of Independence Gains Momentum

beer, Craft Beer’s Seal Of Independence Gains MomentumThe Brewers Association’s recently introduced independent craft beer seal seems to be getting some bigtime traction. And that’s a good thing…

The BA’s “seal of independence” was conceived and designed to help the consumer differentiate true craft breweries (as defined by the BA) from those “crafty” breweries that have been acquired by global beer entities like AB InBev.

And we’re glad to report that the seal, which was launched on June 27th, appears to be gaining some real momentum with America’s independent craft brewers.

Early adopters of the seal are already making their way into the marketplace on everything from brewery bottle and can art to six-pack holders – a trend that’s only going to grow.

The BA informed us this morning, that more than 1,250 breweries, representing more than 1,500 brewing locations and responsible for approximately 50% of U.S. craft beer volume, have in fact signed the seal’s licensing  agreement and obtained the art.

With the craft beer industry increasingly undermined by Big Beer’s ongoing campaign to confuse the consumer and dilute the distinction between mass-brewed and craft beer, we see the adoption of this seal as a critical addition to any true craft brewer’s label and marketing campaigns.

This new seal, which features a beer bottle flipped upside down (a visual allusion to craft beer having upended the beer biz), is now available free of charge if you go HERE.

And we suggest that you do (if you haven’t already).
