There are good craft beer bars, there a great craft beer bars, and then there are legends.

And Washington, DC’s award-winning ChurchKey, which has been nationally and internationally recognized for its excellence and dedication to the industry since it first opened in 2009, is a true legend.

A mecca for the most passionate and informed beer lovers around the nation, ChurchKey is where the world’s best brewers drink when they’re in town. It’s overseen by Greg Engert, a rock star in the brewing biz who along with Michael Babin has helped enshrine ChurchKey as true craft beer destination.

“We are thrilled to welcome guests back after this two year pause,” said Michael Babin, Founder of Neighborhood Restaurant Group (NRG).  “We are grateful to be back and very hopeful about the future.”

Seating 40 visitors at the 75-foot bar and 80 at tabletops, beer lovers will once again be able to navigate their way through a massive beer selection – 50 draft lines and close to 500 cans and bottles of unique and sought-after artisanal beer that are organized according to flavor profile – including “crisp,” “hop,” “malt,” and “fruit and spice” – a system of categories masterminded by NRG and now used across the industry.

Beer aficionados can once again tap into a seasoned selection of cask ales and lagers using traditional Czech-style side pull faucets…Beers served at the precise temperature and in the correct glassware, just as the original brewers intended.

“Our beverage program allows guests to access the distinctive stories and legends behind every single beer, spirit and wine we choose to feature on our menu,” said NRG Beverage Director and Partner Greg Engert…

We source the best, most special, and often most hard-to-find products in the world, and we can’t wait to start sharing them again.”

And after a celebrated stint running the kitchen at ChurchKey and Birch & Barley, Chef Bill Williamson is also back to oversee the relaunch.
