On January 1 BrewDog co-Founder James Watt took to Twitter to confirm an offer that the British government might find difficult to refuse.
In his tweet Watt revealed that the brewing giant was in “talks with the government” and offering its bar locations, cost-free, to serve as vaccine centers in the UK, noting that all those venues “have waiting areas, huge refrigerators & ace people who can help organize.”
Never missing a beat to promote his beer brand and to keep things fun at a less-than-fun time, Watt also said that those who came in to be vaccinated would also receive, a commemorative beer. And fans can even vote on the beer’s final name.

The Aberdeen, Scotland-headquartered global brewer, has more than 50 bars all over the UK, (all of them closed thanks COVID-19), so this offer couldn’t be more strategic.
Watt also tweeted out another message directed To UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock, as well as to Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon, with the same offer.
Sturgeon responded by thanking the now global craft brewer and saying she would pass the offer onto her vaccination team.
“We are excited to work with the Government to do all we can to help with a fast and effective vaccine rollout and we would like to thank Nicola Sturgeon for getting in touch so quickly,” BrewDog responded.
Watt’s offer comes as new strains of COVID-19 saw record numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK over the holidays. All this during a winter holiday season where only 3 pubs were open for the New Year, and those pubs were far from Mainland England on the southwestern Isles of Scilly.
Cases rose to 55,892 on New Year’s Eve, the highest since mass testing began in the United Kingdom according to Yahoo News.
