BrewDog Offers Free Online Beer School

We take a lot of heat about how much we cover BrewDog at American Craft Beer. And we’ll stop doing that, when they stop doing cool things, like deciding to not charge for their brilliant online beer school, which online now and FREE.

Here’s the deal…

BrewDog has run ‘Beer Schools’ in their UK bars for years. In its original incarnation these intimate gatherings were hosted by Cicerone-trained bar crewmembers who for a small fee would oversee a guided beer session that happily came with a buzz.

Two year ago the Scotland-headquartered and now global craft brewer decided to create an enhanced online version and the original idea was to make it available to fans again for a minimal fee.

Now after 16 month in development, BrewDog Beer School is live and online. And on March 1 BrewDog co-founder James Watt took to social media to announce that to counter the COVID-19 lockdowns, they had decided to make the online beer education platform free.

Created to spread the craft beer word and make people as passionate and well-informed about beer as they are, BrewDog’s beer school courses are intesive and fun.

Beer fans who enroll in the online school can learn about the beer’s origins, its ingredients and how different styles are made and more.

And you’ll be learning from master brewers around the world including BrewDog’s founders Martin Dickie and James Watt, Sarah Warman the VP of Growth at BrewDog, Dr Charlie Bamforth, a malting and brewing scientist, Paul Jones, co-founder of Cloudwater Brewery in the UK, Teo Hunter and Beny Ashburn, founders of Crown and Hops brewery in Los Angeles, and Kate Bernot (an ACB fav), Editor of Good Beer Hunting.
