Pabst Blue Ribbon is that rare beer that’s both contemporary (it’s a slacker favorite) and nostalgic. And their promotions tap into that zeitgeist.

Like their new beer motel promotion in Traverse City, Michigan with rooms that celebrate the whole Pabst Blue Ribbon thing and capture the beer’s nostalgic meets hip vibe.

Now thru Labor Day Pabst has taken over three motel rooms in the Grand Traverse Motel in Traverse City, MI and turned them into a mecca for PBR lovers… three different rooms inspired the “Pabst is the Place” marketing tagline from the 80s.

Each room taps into iconic places for enjoying a cold PBR, the Rec Room, the Dive Bar (our favorite!) and the Arcade.

Inspired by the classic game halls of our youth, The Arcade Room is for the kid at heart who is old enough to legally drink. And it come with working games and a king size bed that doubles as a pop-a-shot machine.

You know the one—with the kitschy decor, a jukebox, and your favorite no-frills beer. Like getting all the nostalgia of a classic hole-in-the-wall bar, but with a king size bed, cleaner bathrooms and floors that don’t stick.

If you’re game to cozy up with wood paneling and shag carpet, the Rec Room is your destination. Complete with board games, a foosball table, and a queen size bed masquerading as a pull-out sofa, this room will transport you back to your grandma’s basement.

“PBR is a brand that transcends time,” says Nicole Schmidt, brand director at DNA, Pabst’s new agency. “They’ve stayed true to their roots of being a classic and nostalgic brand, and we knew we had to create something that would make a big impact.”

“There’s a place your mind goes when you think of PBR, somewhere classic and nostalgic,” adds Rachel Keeton, marketing director of PBR told Forbes, “So, DNA proposed this idea to create motel rooms as the physical embodiment of the brand.”
