Turning 30 (San Diego, CA) – Karl Strauss Brewing is celebrating its many years in the biz with something ENORMOUS. Aged in rye whiskey barrels for more than twelve months, Karl Strauss 30th Anniversary Barrel Aged Imperial Stout is a big and boozy 14.4% ABV limited release that will soon be available on draft and in 500ml bottles throughout California.
Head In The Clouds (Kihei, HI) – Maui Brewing has a new limited release that’s conceptually cloudy. Available for a limited time in cans as well as on draught, Maui Makena Cloud Hazy IPA is a 6% ABV slightly “cloudy” India Pale Ale that’s got its head in the clouds.
The First Cut Is Always the Deepest (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing just released the spring addition to its rotating Hop Cycle Series. A mouthful of citrusy Simcoe and a touch of sweet mango, Tröegs First Cut Mango IPA is a 6.2% ABV specialty India Pale Ale that’s brewed with fresh fruit.
Badass Barleywine (Cape May, NJ) – Cape May Brewing is countering this week’s incoming cold with a “draft-only” limited release that’s perfect when things get “drafty.” Sold on draft at brewery tasting and in growlers-to-go while it lasts, Cape May Sawyer’s Swap is a 10% ABV American-Style Barleywine with an intensely complex malt bill and a warming finish to ward of the February cold.
