Beer Run – New Irish Reds, Black Lagers And West Coast IPA’s!

|September 29th, 2018|

This weekend’s new releases are flush with timely seasonals and aged exotics…So welcome to our last Beer Run of September…And there’s plenty to like here.

Sazerac Style (Boulder, CO) Upslope Brewing has a new addition to their popular Lee Hill Series with flavors that mimic a classic New Orleans cognac cocktail. Aged for nine months in Leopold Brothers Absinthe and Rye Whiskey barrels to showcase the balance of spicy rye whiskey and herbal tones, Lee Hill Series — Volume 17, is a 10% ABV Sazerac Style Rye Ale with botanical top-notes of licorice, fennel and orange zest, backed by a sturdy rye whiskey spice and touch of honey sweetness on the finish.

Better Red Than Dead (Fort Collins, CO) – This weekend we’ll be tapping a 32oz crowler of something uber-fresh from Colorado’s Maxline Brewing another great brewery in a town that’s home to many great breweries. One of the brewery’s six year-rounds and one that’s perfect at this time of year, Maxline Irish Red  is a 6.0% ABV American Red with big notes of caramel upfront and a burnt sugar finish.

Black-Hearted (Boston, MA) – The Boston Beer has and interesting new offering that’s exclusive to their Beers of Fall Variety Pack and at retail now. Crisp, uber-dark and medium-bodied, Samuel Adams Black Lager is 4.9% ABV autumnal refresher with subtle notes of cocoa and a silky smooth mouthfeel.

Dusted (Chico, CA) – Leave it to hop champions Sierra Nevada to debut a new West Coast IPA when half of the nation’s craft brewers are moving in more sessionable directions. Brewed with a new technique that blasts Magnum hops and lupulin dust directly into the tank, Sierra Nevada Hop Bullet is an 8% ABV Double IPA with intense pine and citrus flavors.

Chai Times (Denver, CO) – Great Divide Brewing is returning an October addition to their ambitious Yeti Stout family that they introduced last year. Melding an exotic blend chai spices of cinnamon, green cardamom, black pepper, ginger, nutmeg, and vanilla with Yeti’s solid, roasted malt backbone, Great Divide Chai Yeti is a 9.5% ABV Imperial Stout variation that guarantees “chai times.”
