Beer Run – New Golden Sours, Lambics And Hazy IPA’s

This weekend’s collection of new beer offerings are spring-fed and spring-ready…And we’re already well into a couple of them.

Brevis & Bretthead (Atlanta, GA) – On April 13th, Monday Night Brewing is debuting a new sour ale with an awesome name at the Garage. Fermented with Brettanomyces and lactobacillus brevis – hence the name – Brevis & Bretthead is an 8% ABV Imperial Sour IPA with a tart, funky ambience that complements the bitterness of the Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, Idaho 7 and El Dorado hops.

Have A Gooze Time (San Marcos, CA) –   Fresh off of winning a Silver medal at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival in the Wood and Barrel-Aged Sour category, The Lost Abbey is returning the 2019 iteration of a classic. One of San Diego’s most elusive beers, with its release only happening every three years, Duck Duck Gooze is a blend of one, two and three-year-old blonde sours, aged to perfection and available on April 15th.

Dry Out (Aurora, CO) – On April 15th Dry Dock Brewing will be releasing the newest addition to their year-round lineup.  Brewed it with special hopping techniques to keep the bitterness low and fermented with Kveik (the yeast used for traditional Norwegian farmhouse beers) Dry Dock Hazy IPA is a 6.3% ABV India Pale Ale with BIG aromas of passion fruit, pineapple, and fresh squeezed OJ.

A Southern Sour (Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing’s latest Wood Cellar Reserve Series release is an homage to the southern culinary scene. Brewed with Scuppernong grapes, the official state fruit of North Carolina, New Belgium Southern Vine Sour is an 8.4% ABV Golden Sour Ale with intermittent white grape notes and a lingering semi-dry finish.

Illumination Nation (Corvallis, OR) –Block 15 Brewing has finally released the spring entry from their super-popular Abbey Series. Brewed with a complex menu of imported Belgian grains and Trappist yeast, Block 15 Illuminated is a 9% ABV Belgian-style Tripel that leads sweet but finishes with a crisp effervescence.
