Ride The Dark Swell (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer has announced a new release that will be available in 12oz cans and on draft starting in October. Brewed with an aggressive medley of hops that capture the blast of an East Coast nor’easter, Heavy Seas Night Swell is a 7.5% ABV dark IPA with a warming dark roast and rich malt sweetness that broadens the boundaries of the India Pale Ale style.
Coco Nuts (Paso Robles, CA) –Firestone Walker’s Brewmaster Matt Brynildson has conjured up something worthy that’s primed and timed for the changing seasons. The newest iteration of Firestone Walker’s growing milk stout linage. Coconut Merlin is a 5.5% ABV Milk Stout brewed with toasted coconut and lactose. The coconut addition comes after fermentation, with the new beer circulating through the shredded coconuts prior to final clarification and canning.
Lemon Played (Tampa, FL) – Cigar City Brewing has a new seasonal release that owes as much to lemon peel as it does to Lemon Drop hops. Named as a homage to Tampa, Florida’s cigar-rich history (which inspired the brewery’s iconic name) Cigar City Wedge Cut is 4.5% ABV American Wheat Ale that’s both flavorful and approachable.
Cherry Oh! (Denver, CO) – Good River Beer has a new fall seasonal that we’ll definitely be chasing down. Named after one of Good River’s co-founders’ favorite river spots in the Grand Canyon, Owl Eyes is a robust 6.7% ABV Cherry Porter with big notes of coffee, chocolate, toffee, dark fruits, and just enough tart cherry to balance its malt-forward character.
Fresh-Hopped (Bend & Redmond, OR) – Cascade Lakes, which is actually two separate brewpubs one in Bend the other in Redmond, Oregon, has a new fresh hop release that poeple are talking about. Brewed with 400 pounds of fresh picked Centennial hops that were rushed straight to the boil. Cascade Lakes Fresh Pressed Helles Lager is a fresh hop spin on a classic German-style lager that is now available on draft at both locations.
