This weekend’s collection of new beer offerings lean heavy on fruit…Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Things Get Wilder At Reformation (Atlanta, GA) – The Reformation Brewery is returning something wild but it’s only going to be available for a limited time. Described as “sweet, purple and tart” and “dripping with wild amounts of cranberry, blackberry, blackcurrant and ginger,” Reformation Wilder is a heavily dark purple 7% ABV Fruit Ale that’s available now on draft and in 16 oz. 4-packs at the brewery’s Woodstock taproom and shipping to retail in the coming weeks.

Illumination Nation (Corvallis, OR) – Block 15 Brewing has finally released a much-anticipated spring entry in their uber-popular Abbey Series that was brewed with a complex menu of specially curated Belgian grains and its signature Trappist yeast. Block 15 Illuminated is a 9% ABV Belgian-style Tripel Ale that leads rich and sweet but finishes with a crisp effervescence.

Up Next at New Belgium (Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium has an interesting new addition its Up Next Series, a line of special releases that tap into the brewery’s tradition of innovation by offering flavor-bending beers that reflect evolving trends in food and drink. Successfully striking a delicate balance between sweet tropical fruit flavors and traditional beer, New Belgium Passion Fruit Kölsch is a 4.3% ABV springtime seasonal that pours bright, pale yellow with invigorating aromas of passion fruit, guava, and tropical punch.

Purple On Purpose (Cape May, NJ) – Cape May Brewing can never be accused of palying it safe and their newest taproom-only release is a perfect example of that. Sweet, a hint of tartness, and full of Concord grape goodness. Cape May’s The Purp is a 5% ABV Purple Grape Shandy that they provocatively suggest “would be more at home out of a sippy cup than on tap.”beer, Beer Run – Blueberry Wheat Beer, Fruit Ales And Sours

Do What To The Baby? (Littleton, CO) –  Locavore Beer Works is returning a fan favorite just in time for baseball season and it will even be available at Coors Field throughout April. Crafted to pair smartly with both sunshine and baseball, Split the Baby Lemon Blueberry Wheat Ale is a 5.5% ABV fruited Wheat Ale that is brewed with real blueberries and lemon zest.
