Melvin, Beer Buzz – Sexual Misconduct Claims Haunt Melvin Brewing And More! The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s some more of what’s been happening in the beer world, while you’ve been drinking your way through the weekend.

Accusations Of Sexual Misconduct At Melvin Brewing (Bellingham, WA) – Wyoming-based Melvin Brewing is feeling the heat lately over reports that one of its employees inappropriately touched a server last November at Menace Brewing in Bellingham, Washington.

In a Reddit Discussion which referenced the breaking news story that first appeared in the Washington Beer Blog, a Melvin employee LegalGeese (who claimed to be familiar with what went down) explained that the person accused of that sexual misconduct was one of Melvin’s co-founders. The co-founder’s name was not disclosed in that post and since then the user’s account has been deleted…which is telling.

A source has forwarded American Craft Beer some of text from the ‘alleged’ Melvin employee’s original post with his take on the November incident now being widely reported…

“The event from November was bad, but we had (what we thought) taken care of it to the satisfaction of the victim, the victim’s brewery and internally. There was and is a lot of moving parts internally that we did not publicly disclose. Mostly because the victim and Menace brewing didn’t want us to… Airing things in the court of public opinion is never going to satisfy the mob though. Yes he is a co-founder, yes there was corrective action lasting months, and no I won’t tell you what that was, its personal to him, the victim, and everyone at Melvin.”

“We don’t condone that sort of behavior,” Menace Brewing’s owner Ben Buccarelli told the Jackson Hole Daily on Friday. “Her [the victim’s] well-being is my utmost concern.” And according to the Bellingham Police Department, “a police report was not filed regarding the alleged incident.”
