Yikes…January’s almost over. And clearly the craft beer biz isn’t slowing down any time soon. But no worries, Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in into all the beer news and lifestyle that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you don’t want to miss that.

New Maui Brewing Restaurant To Opens Sunday (Kihei, HI) – Maui Brewing Company will be celebrating the opening of its second Maui restaurant this Sunday, February 4th at its Kihei brewery location.

Maui Brewing’s new 8,500 square-foot restaurant will bring the brewery-to-table dining experience to life while continuing to build on its Hawaiian craft brewing heritage and its innovative and independent spirit.

With over 36 craft beers available on tap, Maui Brewing’s new indoor/outdoor family-friendly restaurant will offer artisan dining and fresh island dishes adjacent to Mui Brewing’s tasting room in Kihei.

Words To Drink By (Pierre, SD) – “Selling to a macro-brewer is the fastest, simplest way to turn equity in a craft brewery into cash. That’s the only reason to sell to them. Anyone who claims otherwise is full of shit.”  Jacob McKean, Founder & CEO Modern Times Beer

New Belgium Appoints New Vice President of Marketing (Ft Collins, CO) –  Looks like New Belgium Brewing, the fourth-largest brewer of craft beer in the nation and the eighth-largest brewery in the US, has landed a new Vice President of Marketing.

Shaun Belongie comes to New Belgium most recently from Nestle Purina where he developed wildly popular digital content that has generated more than 100M YouTube views and 3M iTunes app downloads.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Portland, OR) – With much the East Coast chilly again, we tapped something roasty from Lagunitas last night to soften the blow. Lagunitas Dry Hopped Censored is 6.7% ABV Amber Ale hybrid that’s warming and deceptively smooth.
